This year, the thought of not being able to visit the High Park at Toronto, to witness the cherry blossoms was very disappointing – especially as I have never seen it before! I stumbled upon this tree, overloaded with blossoms during my evening walk last week. I’m not sure if these are cherry blossoms, but for now I’m happy with these!
Can someone tell me if these are actually cherry blossoms?? Thanks in advance…🤗
People have been kind to make it possibe for us, to see the cherry blossom virtually, sitting in the comfort of our home… The cherry blossom at High Park can be viewed below!

Our big flower festival (about 3 hours from me) in Rochester, New York (lilacs in Highland Park) is cancelled, too. However, I see this park in Toronto reopened a couple of days ago – I hope it is still possible for you to see the blooms. Your tree’s bark definitely looks like cherry but not the flowers – the flowers look like a pink star magnolia. I have no idea if there is even such a thing. I am wondering if this is an autumn cherry (the name is a bit deceptive; it does bloom in the spring, and sometimes reblooms sparsely in the fall).

Sad to see all spring events cancelled! I know the High park has opened up now but not sure if the cherry blossoms are still there… for this year I’ll be content with the tree in the neighbourhood 🙃 I think it belongs to the same family as it was in full bloom exactly at the same time as the cherry blossoms at High Park… thank you so much for sharing your thoughts 🤗

I was just about to tell you that you can see them virtually, because Natalie, who shares walks on my blog sometimes, also lives in Toronto and shared them this week. It looks a wonderful park 🙂 🙂
