Here is my entry for Frank’s over at Dutch Goes the Photo Blog Tuesday Photo Challenge – Go Big.
And A Photo a Week Challenge : From the Back
Atop a hill in Thimphu, the capital and largest city of Bhutan, is a massive, golden Buddha sitting atop a gilded meditation hall. But the monument holds an invisible secret: Unbeknownst to many people viewing the statue, they aren’t actually looking at one Buddha, they’re looking at 125,000 of them. It is known as Buddha Dordenma statue.
A closeup of the smaller statues around the gigantic Buddha, to show the enormous size of the the main statue.
Clicked this picture during my recent trip to Bhutan.
